WIPdesign created the first MAXIM boutique in Paris around the idea of ‘the banquet’. A banquet, a glorious feast of sweet and savoury, prepared or improvised, is the incarnation of life’s festive moments.
Inspired by the visual codes of the celebrated Restaurant de la rue Royale, the boutique evokes the french art nouveau period, festive and uncomplicated. The incredible volume of the Carrousel du Louvre store allowed expansive shelving bearing hat boxes. The rows of boxes are reflected in a large mirror, which offers a theatrical view of the space.
The generous merchandising reveals the sublime products and is enhanced by a rich and considered lighting. ‘Festive spirit’ and ‘generosity’ are the key words which directed our approach to the design. These values apply to the central curved display which presents the complete offer of fine pastries developed by Maxim’s. The clients are served next to one another, as in a banquet.
For the first boutique of this concept, destined to be developed across the world, the setting in the Carrousel du Louvre perfectly evokes its french heritage
